Terms & conditions
Draft — to be reviewed by a solicitor before the site goes live.
1. What we are
Shooters' Market NI is an online advertising venue. We are not a party to any sale. We never take possession of, inspect, store, transport or take payment for any firearm, ammunition or other item advertised. Buyers and sellers deal directly with each other.
2. Who can use the site
You must be 18 or over. You must give accurate details when you register. Registered firearms dealers must hold a current registration and must tell us immediately if it lapses, is suspended or is revoked.
3. Your responsibilities as a seller
- You must lawfully own, or be authorised to sell, everything you advertise.
- You must describe items accurately, including the licence or certificate a buyer needs.
- Any transfer of a firearm, ammunition or other controlled item must comply with the Firearms (Northern Ireland) Order 2004 and all other applicable law, including checking the buyer's certificate and notifying the authorities where required.
- You must not advertise prohibited items, items you are not permitted to possess, stolen goods, or anything whose sale would be unlawful.
4. Your responsibilities as a buyer
You are responsible for holding any certificate or authority needed to buy and possess an item, and for completing the transfer lawfully. Do not send money for an item you have not seen, and never pay a stranger by bank transfer before collecting.
5. Listing fees
Listing is currently free. We may introduce fees for posting or featuring ads; any fees will be shown before you post and will not apply retrospectively. Once an ad has been published, any fee paid is non-refundable, including if the ad is removed for breaching these terms.
6. Our rights
We may edit, refuse or remove any ad and suspend or close any account at our discretion, including where we suspect unlawful activity. We may share information with the police where we are required to, or where we believe it is necessary to prevent or detect crime.
7. Liability
We do not check the items advertised and give no warranty about them, their sellers or their buyers. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from a transaction between users.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland and the courts of Northern Ireland have jurisdiction.
